Enter The Void | Chapter 1 Cover Progress

Here is the first cover to my comic Enter The Void!

I went through A lot of trial and error with this cover, for starters finding the fight angle took so long and a lot of redos. I Knew I wanted fire and his hands to come out towards "us" while also hugging the character in the middle os the page. At first I wanted a lot of smoke to be in the background but I opted for just black adding more symbolism to "Enter The Void"

She was originally on the cross but I took it out for fear of the greater public getting triggered by the religious meaning. When I finally got to the cover I wanted it was all about changing the perspective and refining the anatomy on the characters. Adding more dynamics to the hair and her dress.

The coloring stage was the most mentally taxing and most fun process. I really had to be carful with the lighting and making sure the elements do not get washed out by the extreme lighting for the fire. I needed to keep that balance between the intensity of the shadows and lighting.

I had to do a lot of clean up in the coloring stage, lots of small meticulous details went into the final piece that I am sure no one is going to notice/ care for but I did want to maintain a very high level of quality when cleaning up.
I am still not sure if this will be the final final piece, I might still go in and mess with the levels a bit but overall I am happy with the final product! Let me know what you guys think!
